Colerick Family History

William M. Colerick was born on October 30, 1821 in Ohio.  He married Demaris Melvina Spray on December 18, 1849 in Porter Co., Indiana.  She was born on December 12, 1832 in Indiana and died on November 26, 1906 in Stella, Richardson Co., Nebraska.  William died on July 1, 1901 in Stella, Richardson Co., Nebraska.  William and Demaris had 12 children. (Note: 1900 census shows Demaris had 12 children but only six were still living.)

 

1.  George A. Colerick - He was born in June of 1850 in Indiana and died on June 15, 1863.

 

2.  Nancy E. Colerick - She was born on October 11, 1853 in Indiana and died on October 11, 1855 in White Co., Indiana.

 

3.  John Stephen Colerick was born December 14, 1854 in White Co.,  Indiana. He was married twice, the first wife is unknown. His second marriage was to Martha Ann Frye.  They married about 1884. Martha was born in Iowa in February of 1867and died in 1928. John Stephen died in 1928.  They had seven children.

A. Minnie May Colerick – She was born June 29, 1886 in Mondamin, Iowa. She married Walter Lafayette Curttright on March 13, 1904. Walter was the son of Jerome Lafayette Curttright and Mary Francis Jarvis. He was born November 4, 1878 in Olin, Iowa and died February 9, 1965. Minnie died October 14, 1948. Walter and Minnie are buried in Nemaha, Nebraska. They had 11 children. (see Curttright history)

B. Sarah Jane Colerick – She was born October 28,1888 in Mondamin, Iowa.  She married Lewis Henry Roach.  He was born about 1883 in Nebraska.  They had 6 children.

C. Ella Estelle Colerick – She was born September 1890 in Harrison Co., Iowa.  She married Archie Wesley Rowan.  He was born about 1892 in Nebraska.  They had 2 children.

D. Clara Amy Colerick – She was born November 29, 1894 in Iowa.  She married Harry Loyal Wills on March 12, 1914.  Harry was born on a farm near Peru, Nebraska in London Precinct on July 31, 1888 and died on May 27, 1969.  He is buried in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Peru, Nebraska.  They had two daughters and two foster sons.

E. Alva Andrew Colerick – He was born July 14, 1897 in Nemaha, Nebraska and died in January 4,1982. He had brown eyes and black hair.  He married Lucy Fern Feighner on February 22, 1922.  She was born December 16, 1895 in Missouri and died May 3, 1954 in Rockport, Missouri.  They had four children.

c.  Rex R. Colerick – Born June 13, 1926 in Nebraska and died on June 15, 1997.   He married Inez M. Tanner.  She was born January 26, 1916 and died on September 9, 1996.

F. William Robert Colerick – He was born January 26, 1900 in Nebraska and died September 16, 1985.  He had gray eyes and brown hair.  He married Esther Marie Parriott.  She was born March 23, 1911.  They had one child.

a.  Steven Andrew Colerick

G. John Stephen Colerick – He was born April 24, 1903 in Nebraska and died December 23, 1976.  He married Hannah Leora Stites.  They divorced.  She died on October 8, 1969.  They had two children.

4.  Francis Alva Colerick - He was born May 13, 1857 in Richardson Co., Nebraska and died in 1930.

He married Emma ??.  She was born about 1847 in Pennsylvania.

 

5.  William Harrison Colerick - He was born on March 25, 1859 in Lincoln, Richardson Co., Nebraska and died on July 28, 1922 in Alma, Arkansas.  He is buried in Blackburn Cemetery in Cleveland Co., Oklahoma.  He married Mahalia Ann Hall on July 3, 1881.  Mahalia was born on April 25, 1865 in Hastings, Iowa.  She died on October 1, 1945 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and is buried in Blackburn Cemetery in Cleveland Co., Oklahoma.  They had twelve children.

A.  Ada Bertha Colerick - She was born February 17, 1883 in Lincoln, Nebraska and died on April 18, 1942.  She married Charles Wesley Shultz in September 1901.  Charles died on March 19, 1963 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  They had three children.

B.  Charles Henry Colerick was born February 25, 1884 in Lincoln, Nebraska and died on July 19, 1955 in Canada.  He married Amanda Polly Gower on March 15, 1905 in Norman, Oklahoma.  She was born in Colorado.  They had one child.

a.  Ilma May Colerick - She was born on May 1, 1906 in Oklahoma.  She married Ural Wayne Troute on July 4, 1924.  He was born February 3, 1903.  They had 3 children.

C.  Mella Jane Colerick - She was born March 18, 1886 in Lincoln, Nebraska and died June 29, 1948 in Eugene, Lane Co., Oregon.  She married William Paris Shultz on February 8, 1904 in Franklin, Oklahoma.  He was born April 8, 1882 in Charleston, Franklin Co., Arkansas and died March 13, 1934 in Eugene, Lane Co., Oregon.  They had two children.

a.  Zella Mae Shultz - She was born December 6, 1905 in Franklin, Indian Territory, Oklahoma and died November 17, 1991  in Gilbert, Maricopa Co., Arizona.  She married Francis Peter Mannel on July 24, 1926 in Eugene, Lane Co., Oregon.  He was born January 17, 1900 in Barron, Barron Co., Wisconsin and died on July 1, 1987 in Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon.  They had one child.

i.  Elizabeth Jane Mannel - She married Charles Leslie Dougherty.  They had two children.

b.  Grace Luetta Shultz - She was born July 18, 1908 in Norman, Franklin Co., Oklahoma, and died March 9, 1996 in Eugene, Lane Co., Oregon.  She married Donald William Shaffner in February 1937 in Eugene, Lane Co., Oregon.  He was born September 18, 1894 and died November 8, 1973 in Eugene, Lane Co., Oregon.  They had one child.

D.  Verga Colerick - She was born August 28, 1888 in Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska and died August 27, 1967 in Eugene, Lane Co., Oregon.  She is buried in Resthaven Cemetery in Eugene, Oregon.  She married Raymond Jay Buell on January 1, 1910 in Eugene, Oregon.  He was born December 17, 1883 in Mitchell, Mitchell Co., Iowa and died March 21, 1960 in Eugene, Lane Co., Oregon.  They had two children.

a.  Donald Richard Buell - She was born December 26, 1918 in Great Falls, Cascade Co., Montana and died April 12, 1978 in Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon.  He is buried in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.  He married Unknown Burgett.  They had two children.

E.  Nettie E. Colerick - She was born August 7, 1891 in Taney Co., Missouri and died in Eugene, Lane Co., Oregon.  She married Henry Foss.

 

F.  Floyd B. Colerick - He was born October 11, 1895 in Bolivar, Polk Co., Missouri and died October 28, 1978.  He married Ione Schwartz.  She was born June 18, 1897 and died February 20, 1984.  Both are buried in Schwartz Cemetery, Cleveland Co., Oklahoma.

 

G.  Jim B. Colerick - He was born September 30, 1899 in Franklin, Cleveland Co., Oklahoma and died November 13, 1961.  He married Myrtle Dodd.  He is buried in Sunny Lane Cemetery in Oklahoma Co., Oklahoma.

 

H.  Female Colerick - born and died on February 4, 1901 in Franklin, Cleveland Co., Oklahoma.  She is buried in Blackburn Cemetery, Cleveland Co., Oklahoma.

 

I.  Joseph W. Colerick - He was born March 13, 1902 in Franklin, Cleveland Co., Oklahoma and died on January 26, 1984.  He is buried in Sunny Lane Cemetery in Oklahoma Co., Oklahoma.  He married Fleta Longnecker.  She was born May 27, 1909 and died on December 26, 1987.  She is buried in Sunny Lane Cemetery in Oklahoma Co., Oklahoma.

J.  Fred J. Colerick - He was born June 28, 1905 in Franklin, Cleveland Co., Oklahoma and died August 12, 1942 in Klamath Falls, Lake Co., Oregon.  He is buried in Resthaven Cemetery, Eugene, Oregon.  He married Bertha Marguerite Buell. On August 8, 1926 in Eugene, Oregon.  She was born April 28, 1908 in Eugene, Oregon and died July 1979 in Eugene, Oregon.  She is buried in Lane Memorial Gardens, Eugene, Oregon.  They had one child.

a.  B. L. Colerick - She married Earl W. Culbertson.  He was born November 27, 1915 and died August 28, 1955 in Corvallis, Oregon.  He is buried in Corvallis, Oregon.  They had one child.

B.L.'s second marriage was to Charles Arthur Walker.  They had one child.

K.  Clarence Lee Colerick - He was born December 30, 1907 in Franklin, Cleveland Co., Oklahoma and died August 11, 1985.  He married Virginia Damron.  His second marriage was to Betty Woods.  Clarence is buried in Blackburn Cemetery, Cleveland Co., Oklahoma.

 

L.  Etta M. Colerick -  She married Harold Rowlett.

 

6.  Joshua Lincoln Colerick - He was born May 5, 1862 in Richardson Co., Nebraska and died on December 15, 1944 in West Muddy, Richardson Co., Nebraska.  He married Fanetta E. Bothwell, daughter of John and Harriet Bothwell on August 4, 1884 in Logan, Harrison Co., Iowa.  Joshua is buried in Stella Cemetery, Richardson Co., Nebraska.  Fanetta was born in August 1865 in Missouri  and died in 1955.  They had 4 children.

A.  Ethel S. Colerick - She was born September 1885 in Harrison Co., Iowa and died in 1942.  She married Charles Wesley Smith about 1904.  He was born September 22, 1858 in Little Sioux, Harrison Co., Iowa and died on June 1, 1928 in Little Sioux, Harrison Co., Iowa.  They had 6 children.
