THE STORY
My Great grandfather Mr. Ben Ford, saw the first large main Mr. Allen
fought with his yellow legs against John B. Taylor at Allison's Wells, Miss.,
Nov 5, 1905
He bought the winner of the odd fight. He paid $7.50 for him. He later got
hens from his partner Chas Phillips of Monroe, La which were direct from Mr.
Allen. With these Roundheads my great, great grandfather won the 1910
tournament and scores of derbies, the reports of which have appeared in the
game fowl journals during the last 80 years. They are known for their
quickness, smartness, cutting ability and gameness.
