I present this story as an oddity. I wrote this approximately 25 years ago, when I was 15. I am reproducing it exactly the way it was originally written. Bill Hocutt, 20 Nov 1999.

Introduction

By

R. M. Byam

R. M. Byam, was a friend of mine in High school. I have not seen or heard from him since then.

And Now you will be pleased to learn that brilliance of Bill Hocutt and Robert Byam here once again put together another masterpiece of drama and humor. To create the greatest book since Future Chronicles.

In this endeavor they try to show a view point of two writers thrown into a Parallel universe and their writings of the other worlds history. The similarities and differences will amaze you along with the drama of the escapes made in their effort to survive and return to their world.

I don't know how we got into this universe or how to get out of it. The English have trying to kill us for about a month. You see Jack King and me (Bill Adams) were working on an assignment for the Washington Post on the possibility that the Devils Triangle really existed. We chartered a plane to take us to Jamaica, but when we landed Jack said that something was wrong. I didn't think much of it until I noticed the British Flag flying over the airport. When I questioned the Customs Inspector about it, he hit a panic button and the British Gestapo like Police force arrested us. We were thrown into a prison that looked like it had been designed by a one legged pervert. Three days later we were tried and convicted for espionage and sentenced to death, but before we were executed a group of rebels calling themselves the CCFMS freed us. We questioned the leader of this group (R M Byam) about the history of his planet. The Following the History of Earth 2.

Earth 2 evolved more or less the same as the real Earth until about 1776 when Great Britain successfully put down the American Revolution. At this point I interrupted Byam and asked him how the British had beaten the Americans. RM Byam said "It seems the rebels were led by a man named Washington or something like that and when the British executed this guy the rebels gave up." Jack asked Byam if France had helped the rebels in their efforts. Byam said "The French entered the war in 1773 but they had to pull out in 1775 when Turkey invaded French controlled Italy." Byam got up and looked out the window to make sure everything was still safe. When he was sure everything was ok he sat down and continued his story.

The Franco-Turkish war lasted ten years until England started selling Turkey their new invention (Tanks). France surrendered on the 3rd of June 1785. Turkey at this time only controlled the Middle East and North Africa. England controlled the North English (American) continent and Northern Europe, Japan controlled about ¾ of Asia, and Bulgaria controlled the Southeastern Fourth of Europe. Things moved smoothly for the English until 1802 when the Americans with the help of the French revolted for a second time. Thirty Americans led by Thomas Jefferson kidnapped the English governor of the Province of Virginia and demanded the English troops be removed from the Virginia colony. The Rebels got their answer when the British introduced a special force used to put down rebellions against the crown called the Special Service Division of the British Army which is still terrorising people today by the way that's who captured you.

At this time a member of the CCFMS came running in to tell Byam that Smidt had broke and they had to leave because there location was no longer safe. Byam and his men stole a plane and we flew to the Argentina Mountains. After hiking up the mountain for three hours we arrived at a small cabin. After making sure the cabin was secure Byam continued his story.

Okay, this Jefferson guy led his rebels in a bloody battle in New York, I think it was New York anyway. The battle lasted about three hours and when it was over the British had lost. Meanwhile the SS had located their camp in Virginia and had freed their prisoners. When Jefferson and his men returned to their camp in Virginia they were arrested and exiled to South America.

Byam got up and left to go get some food. While he was gone Jack and I talked about the differences between Earth I and Earth II. Jack brought up the fact that if England ruled all their colonies like they did Jamaica that they were Nazi's.

About an hour later Byam came back and asked if we would like to meet the descendants of one of the rebels. Natuarally we said yes, ten minutes later John F Kennedy walked into the room and we almost died. Jack and I talked to Kennedy for a couple of hours then Byam went on with his story.

About a year later, that is after TJ got banished, The Turko-Bulgarian War began. France and Spain both threw their support to Turkey. Germany and Russia declared war on Turkey. The Six countries fought for seven years without a break until the Russian Revolution of 1820. The Rebels somehow managed to gain control of Seventeen of the Colonies (Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Mexico) and established the Confederate States of America.

Then Byam got up and left. I asked Kennedy if the English every had any trouble with the American Indians. Kennedy Said " Sure, but let me tell you what happened to the CSA first. Well the CSA was looking good until World War I"

Jack interupted "World War I"

JFK Answered "Yea, that's what we call the first Anglo-Nipponese war. You see England declared war on Japan in 1823. Turkey declared war on Japan a week later, but France Spain and Russian threw their support with the Jappanese. When the Confederate States of America refused to state their position the English invaded Virginia. The Next day the CSA declared war on the Allies (England, Turkey & North Africa Republic). Three days later the combined forces of the English and Turkish invaded Russian on their way to Jappanese controlled asia, meanwhile their Ally the North African Republic invaded Ethopia. Six months later Russia surrendered and the allies invaded Japan. Two days later the English invaded the Franco-Spanish Pennisula. On the 1st of January 1824 England accepted the offical surrender of the France and Spain. Two days later Ethopia surrended and North Africa invaded South Africa, but Turkey turned on the North Africans on the 22nd of January and invaded a day later. A month later the CSA surrendered and once more became an English Coloney.

This is all that survived of this story. All I can say is that I hope my writing ability has improved in the intervening 25 years.
