Big Bobby Bullen

 

Big Bobby Bullen was born on June 3rd, 1909 in Mule Shoe Texas. He Grew up working the Oil Fields of West Texas. He played professional Football with the Green Bay Packers in 1931 and 1932. He was a defensive lineman. After being thrown off the team for painting the quaterback's helmet pink before a big game against the New York Giants he moved to Nomocotton Texas and took a job as a gravedigger. Rumor has it that during this period of time he also ran moonshine for Abner Beddingfield. Bobby met and married Cindy Jean Meyer in 1936 while she worked at German John's Mercantile.

 

Big Bobby served in the US Army during World War II, losing a leg during the invasion of North Africa. After his return to Texas he was involved in the infamous Klan shootout in the spring of 1944 on the main street of Nomocotton, Texas. No charges were pressed against him.

 

Bobby and Cindy Jean had four children: Little Bobby Bullen (6ft 5inches tall, 325 lbs.), Joseph Traywick Bullen (MIA in Vietnam), Hiram Stanislaw Bullen, and Betty Lynn Bullen.

 

Big Bobby's first appearance was in the short story "Uncle Hiram and the Graveyard."
