Ferret Badger(Melogale moschata)

The Ferret Badger is in the Mustelidae family and is a badger. It is the smallest of the badgers only getting weighing 2 ˝ to 7 pounds. The Ferret badgers diet consists of small rodents, insects and occasionally fruit. Babies are born in May & June with litter size being two to three babies per litter. Little is known of the Ferret badgers breeding or the age of weaning the babies. At the writing of this article there are only 8 of these animals listed in zoo’s around the world. The life span is recorded at over 10 years. Once our stock arrives we will be adding data to this article.
