Cuscus (Phalanger mimicus)

Here is an animal that thousands of people have seen on national TV. It is a slow moving marsupial that I have never seen an aggressive behavior from. The animals are of low maintenance and relatively simple to care for. The cuscus comes from several different areas and comes in several different colors. The grey cuscus which is Phalanger mimicus are small animals about the size of a house cat. They average in weight between 6 to 12 pounds, with a body length of up to 23". Their diet consists of fruit, leaves and some small birds in the wild. Diet in captivity is fruit, vegatables and cat food. Cage size, I feel should be substantial for this animal as it loves to climb. So a tall cage with tree limbs is desired. Once again here is an animal that can be handled with its tail with no damage to the tail. I feel that these animals should go into breeding programs and any animals I breed will be micro-chipped to insure clean viable bloodlines. These animals are not ground dwellers so tree limbs are a must as this animal is quite out of place living on the ground.
