This little animal is also called the Kowari . The kowari comes from central Australia. My breeder group came from a breeding program in Europe. This is a nice little animal if you like the hard to find unusual type. Cage size min is 36x36x24. They need several caves , I use 4" pvc pipe. You can also use a nest box made for cockatiels. They also need a pan of sand for sand baths.
Their diet consists of; dry cat food, canned cat food, grass hoppers , chicks , hopper mice , crickets , meal worms.
The litter size will average 4-5 babies.
Disposition; they are a very curious animal and love to "watch" everything. Captive hand raised animals can be handled and tend to be very affectionate. If picked up when they have a litter the female will kill the offspring.
