Mirror's Illusion

Mirror's Illusion

Three a.m., wide awake
I sit in front of the mirror
staring at my illusion
(or maybe disillusion).
Wondering why I
cannot be more like
the person in the mirror.
One who shows no fear,
no pain, no love, no regret.
No emotions escape
the person inside the mirror.
And as I ponder
this figment of
a fragmented imagination ...
I become lost as to
who is real,
who is a lie.
What is fact,
what is fantasy.
And most important of all ...
which is the illusion?
