Little Butterfly

"Little Butterfly"

Oh, little yellow butterfly
floating upon the breeze ...
how I wish I could fly like you
among the whispering trees.
Flying over hilltops,
flittering amongst the flowers ...
and so lovely and beautiful,
with such a gentle power.
A creature born to beauty,
innocent to this earth,
evolving from a cocoon
of such simple and lowly birth.
Wondrous creature you are,
a pleasure to gaze upon.
I'm lost in your tranquility
and I hear your heart's song.
So fly, little butterfly, fly ~
take my soul to the sky so blue.
Let me feel and see
the world's wonder through you.
