I have poured grain for your asses and your horses,

I have put silver and gold bridles in their mouths.

I have set up a Pure Seat, so that you may take your place;

I have spread for you an Excellent Vestment, a vestment of Pure Linen;

15. I have set up as your clothing an immaculate red vestment, appropriate for royalty;

I have set at your feet to the right and to the left combed wool, red wool and blue wool;

I have set at your feet choice wool, white wool and black wool, fleece from a white goat and fleece from a black goat.

At the same time, I have piled up for you, according to their seed, some large grain, some small grain, some white grain, some black grain, some gruel-oats, some peas, some lentils, and some tares;

At the same time, I have set up in abundance for you, on a Pure Table, some takkasû-bread, some zidubdubbû-bread, some cake, some honey, some butter, some dates, vegetables of all sorts;

20. I have put for you Pure Water in a Pure Container;

I have set up for you a jar of Fine Light Beer and Sweet Reed;

I have poured for you a libation of Premium Beer and Red Beer;

I have offered for you, as a pure sacrifice, an animal whose mouth has been washed;

At the same time I have scattered for you a mixture of cedar, juniper, sweet aromas and pure grilled flour.

25. Let the Anunnaku come near you;

Šamaš, take your place on the Pure Seat.

I have given for your hands, Pure Thorny Alkali, which was brought from the mountains,

Some pure water from an underground spring, sprung from Eridu,

Which sprung from the Pure Mountain with underground springs, the Cedar Mountain;

30. Wash your hands, clean your hands,

May the Gods, your peers, wash their hands, clean their hands.

Eat the Pure Food at the Pure Table,

Drink the Pure Water from the Pure Container.

Towards the matters of the King, the son of his God, turn your attention;

35. Inform yourself of his affairs,

Pronounce a Judgement for him, pronounce a decision for him!

May the God of the King tell of your mighty deeds;

As for the King, may he live; and as long as he lives, may he tell of your mighty deeds!

As for the King, may he sing your praises!

1. Šamaš, when you come out of the Great Mountain,

When you come out of the Great Mountain, the mountain with the underground spring,

When you come out of the Duku, where destinies are fixed,

When you come out of the Horizon where the Heavens and the Earth meet,

5. The Great Gods come near you for the sentencing,

The Anunnaki come near you for the pronouncing of the decision.

Humankind, all the peoples, pay attention to you;

The eyes of the cattle, of the four-legged animals,

Towards your Great Light are directed.

10. Šamaš, you are Wise, Eminent, the One who Counsels Himself,

Šamaš, you are the Eminent Chief, Judge of the Heavens and the Earth!

All that is in the heart, the whispered words,

The breath of all peoples, repeat it to you.

You bring down without delay the evil man,

15. You elect Righteousness and Justice.

The oppressed and the one who is persecuted,

When you travel through the august Šutukku of the Pure Heavens,

Anu and Enlil bless you with joy,

Ea and Belit-ili come with great joy towards you;

10. The Great Gods of the cellas of the whole country pay attention to you,

You fix their fates, you pronounce decisions for them.

5. Šamaš, you covered with radiance the heavens and all the countries,

You have procured light so that the country may see;

You have put in good order the running of the country.

You have created in the steppe the cattle, the living beings,

Šamaš, as a father and a mother you have opened their ear;
