Omarion Grandberry

Albums

Omarin Ishmael Grandberry first appeared on the scene in Kellogg’s Corn Pops commercial. He was the guy that fooled the football team into thinking there was a pep rally. He was then recruited into the new R&B group B2K, which means Boys of the Millennium . He beat out various teenagers to be the fourth member of the group. He is considered the diplomat of the group and probably the most down to earth as well.

Omarin, who goes by Omari, means African King. He and the others members (J-Boog, Raz-B and Lil Fizz worked with their mentors (and “big brothers”) IMX on their first album-B2K.

The group toured with Lil Bow Wow during his 2001 tour and appeared on his “Ghetto Girls” video. The group appeared on The Jenny Jones Show, MTV, Soul Train, TEENick and the underachieving network known as BET. Between working on the album, Omari appeared in McDonalds commercials promoting their 99-cent menu.

The group worked on another album for Christmas-Santa Hooked Us Up. It was slated for a 2001 Christmas release, but was held up due to various delays on the release of the B2K album.

Omari was born Englewood, Ca. on September 12, 1984. He has 6 siblings-ORyan, Amira, Arielle, Ukil, Tymon and Kira. He is the half brother to Marques Houston. They share the same mother while he and O’Ryan share the same father. In fact all of three of his sibling are also half siblings from previous relationships.

The group released B2K: The Remixes that featured remixes of a few of their songs along with a song by Jhene. Most of the remixes could be found on various DJ records heard in night clubs.

The group released their second album Pandemonium and re-released it again with a DVD and bonus songs from the first album and an unreleased song.

Omari once dated Solange, the sister of Beyonce, who once dated his brother Marques.

The group finished a movie called You Got Served (A remake of Breakin) and the soundtrack. Omari and Marques play two brothers (Pun?) that attempt to win a dance contest against another group.

On 12-31-03-B2K broke up. J-Boog, Raz-B and Fizz signed with new management. Omari stayed with Chris Stokes as he went to the hospital for surgery. Various issues came up as money, abuse and freedom were the issues that ended teh group.
