HOW SUITE IT IS!
Give a man a place to sleep , shower and shave
and he's content. Make sure they have money to
gamble and their world is perfection.
But women! Via the difference!
Give us luxurious accommodations, a sunken
bathtub and a glass of champagne ( I prefer
Tosti Asti myself) and we're still not content.
Add gambling money with the incentive "you can
shop too"... then we're in heaven.
Check into the RIO where every room is
a suite. "650 square feet of "sweet-suite". A
livingroom area, a wet bar, coffee brewer, small
refrigerator, and plush bedroom including a
chase lounge. Not just a bath but a dressing
room, ample closet, chest of drawers, and an
iron provided with a luscious tub including a
porthole view back to the bedroom. Put this on
the 30th. floor with an outstanding view of the
strip and ladies your in heaven.
Relax! Take it all in! Then arm yourself with
attitude. You know that "attitude" of slight
arrogance, slight arisocrat. Then go to the
craps table. Confidently request a marker.
Make it $500. Yes, I said $500. Don't worry
they give you the chips, but no one says you
have to use them all. The respect you earn is
immediate. The "boys" know your there to
play... but only you know how much you'll play.
Don't be shy! I usually find that a table
predominate with male players will offer the
dice
to a lone female at the table. Some even will
pass off their turn to roll and give you the
dice.
I like to step out gently. Put a $5 or
$10 bet on the pass line. Roll the dice;
get a number. Then, $5 or $10
odds on your pass line bet. Single odds
are just fine to start. Roll again. By the
way, never mention "seven". Yes, I'm a little
superstitious. Don't mention it, because you
don't want it to show up now. Also, I believe
in synergy.
That's positive talk! Happy
vibes. I chat it up a little. No, not girl
talk..but"craps-talk". Get those dice, talk to
them, tell them what you want. Before you know
it the table energy changes and all the players
will be rooting for you (and of course for
themselves, because they're riding on your
roll).
Roll again, another number, okay $5 on it;
and also put odds behind that number. Now,
just so you don't lose track, here's the line-up
so far.. $5 on pass line; roll a number. That's
your point.
$5 odds on pass line. That's $10. Then
roll again. Place another $5 on this number,
and $5 odds. That
makes $10 more. Total on the table so far is
$20. Relax Girls, we spend
more than that to get our nails done and we're
having lots of fun.
The energy on the table is starting to simmer.
Roll again. Get another number, put $5 on
it and odds again. Now make sure you have pass
line with odds and two numbers with odds
"working". The more numbers you have out on the
board
the better your chances of winning so go ahead ,
put a "place-bet" on 6 and 8. That's right, you
don't have to roll the dice for these. Just
tell the dealer you want to "place-bet" on 6 and
8. Bet $6 or $12 (you see, 6 & 8 come up often!
Check out the odds later.) So girls we've got
about $36.00 on the table. Now pull them in.
Tell the dice what you want, pick up the numbers. Hopefully
pick up you numbers before you hit your "point"
number. This is when it's breathless. You
roll, the dealer calls the number and hopefully
you haul in the chips. (by the way, the dealers
are wonderful if you let them know you need
help. They will keep watch for you. Make sure
you remember them too.
A tip to a dealer with a female smile goes a
long way to assure your table confidence.)
Then, eventually, or should I say inevitably
you'll roll a seven. Yes! you'll "crap-out" but its
delicious
when you pull all your numbers first.
If your winning ladies "rack-it". What
I mean
is sort it out on your racks. I separate my
chips with color chips to keep count. It's much
quicker just to look down and see immediately
separate racks of $100 separted by $25
color chips and I slide my profit to the left of
my rack. I only play with gambling money, not
my winnings That way I always know where I
stand.
Now back to your suite. Yes! you heard me.
Leave the table. If your winning its a good
time to leave and if your loosing you need a
clear break.
Before you go to your suite "cash-out" those
chips. All of them! Even though you'll be
gambling later, cash out all your chips now.
It's a reality check. Those chips aren't play
money, as the casino would like you to feel.
Go to your suite. Toss all the cash on the
bed. Lay on it, roll in it. Now count out
$500. That's your marker amount. Everything
else is profit. Now lock up the profit in your
room safe.
Change clothes or take a bubble bath or go to
the pool.
On your way, stop downstairs and pay-back
your $500 marker. This keeps you straight and
shows the casino "activity" of $500 gambling
paid in full. You can get comps later on.
Now go have a relaxing swim, get your hair
done, and plan a delightful "dinner and show"
with your man.
Gambling all dressed-up is a special "Vegasy"
thing.
A few minutes of play just before showtime
is
glamorous and gentlemen still do enjoy seeing
women look like ladies. (No! Don't get on me
for
this statement. Women still do like feeling
like ladies too). A 8 or 10 minute "quickie" is
okay, if it's on the crap table!!!

HIT
AND RUN
This is a true story.... This method of
gambling won't be found in any professional tip
book, but it works. It's fun...and this really
happened.
Rob ( my husband) and I were staying at the
RIO and really having a great time. The
accommodations were gorgeous and the food
excellent.
I decided to go for a swim. The pools at the
Rio are beautiful. One is in the configuration
of a large angelfish and the other has a beach
of sand that continues into the pool. Lovely
fountains and waterfalls make this an enchanting
oasis.
I changed into my suit and cover-up and headed
downstairs to the pool. I walked past the
tables and had no intention of gambling. I had
a lovely swim and on the way back to my room I
was drawn to the craps table by the chatter and
laughter. I lingered and watched the rythm of
the table for awhile. I decided to dabble a
little. I placed a $5 bet on the pass line and
rolled the dice and got my point. I put out $5
odds and $5 on "come". I rolled again and got a
number put out another come bet etc. I placed a
6 and 8 bet and I immediately rolled a 6
followed by an 8 and I left the bets stand.
Then, I doubled all my odds and rolled and
rolled.
I pulled every number I had out on the board
and then I made my point.
WOW! It was exciting and all this
happened in 8 minutes. I had won $180. and my
hair was still damp from swimming. This was
more invigorating than the swim.
Next, I stopped. That's the difficult thing
about gambling. But, I took my winnings and
Ran. Hit them, win and run. What a
rush!
PLAYING A "ROUND"
One of my favorite things to do. Have a
drink, relax, and play dress-up. I know it may
be a little old fashioned, but changing your
attire can change you. Take advantage of the
atmosphere. It's a niteclub environment. (or at
least it can be. Lot's of casinos now cater to
the theme park environment. The family lure is
fine. But for me Vegas will always be an adult
playground).
I love to dress the part. Cocktail dress,
jewelry, and painted nails still gets proper
laudation from the dealers. Frankly everyone
treats you differently when your "dressed". Look the lady
and you will be treated as such.
It's wonderful, reminiscent of childhood
dress-up! Arriving at the crap table looking
fine, requesting a $500 marker and rolling the
dice (red finger nail polish contrasting against
the white and black of the dice)...it's tres
sheik!
Playing a "round" can have a very different
meaning. When you approach the craps table,
look around. Just observe for a few moments.
Get a sense of the moods. Are the players
enjoying themselves, or are they "working" much
too hard. My own observation has been that men
in particular "work" too hard at the game. Of
course, the basis of this statistic I admit is
unfairly weighted since the tables are
predominately occupied by males. Nonetheless,
men rarely back-away. They stay and play and
often insist that the very next round will be
theirs. That luck is bound to change. Don't
let this strategy infect you ladies. Luck is
fickle. Don't be trapped into heavy losses
thinking just one more roll will turn the table
in your favor. Know when to walk away. When is
that? Whenever you sense it. Yes, nothing
magical here. When the house is winning
repeatedly. When the players seem to be loosing
whether they bet "passline" or "don't come".
Get the message. Heed the signs. Take a walk.
Go shopping. But get off that table and live to
play another day.
My favorite way to "play a round" is too
assess the table and decide that I am going to
stay for one full round of the table. That
means rolling the dice and continuing to play
until the dice come full circle back to me to
roll again. I enjoy saving my heavier bets to
bet on myself. Why not? If I don't have
confidence in myself I shouldn't be playing at
all. With a little luck you can easily play a
full round with less than $500 at risk. Yes,
$500 seems serious to me. In fact, it is. One
does not always win.
Never, and I do mean never
go to the table and gamble with money you can't
afford to loose! It won't be fun and
this is
not a game for the faint of heart. You have to
be able to play and place bets quickly. You
can't do that if your constantly worrying about
how much money your loosing..
WOMEN CAN
PLAY
CRAPS
TOO!
I never thought I'd be able to shoot craps. I
had
rarely seen women play and the table was
always fast
and appeared confusing. My husband came up
with a
good idea. A way to teach me the game at home
so I
would not be intimidated. He took a lid from a
large
cardboard box and drew out the craps table on
the
inside of it. All the numbers and field areas,
the
pass line area ....everything. He handed me a
pair
of dice and gave me stacks of poker chips and
told me
to shoot the dice. I had no idea what I was
doing at
first, but Rob told me what to do next
and
pretty
soon I was really enjoying the whole idea of
it. I'd
roll the dice and shout out a number, real
excited...but not knowing why and then
Rob
would tell
me how to bet. Rob learned a lot about
craps
by
reading books. Rob told me how to bet
on the
passline and then roll a number and bet again.
He
explained what the "odds" meant and how to bet
and
when to increase my bets. After a while it
really
started to make sense. In a few months we took
another trip to Las Vegas and stayed at the
Stardust.
It was time for the fledgling to fly. So, I
stepped
up to the Craps table and the dice were pushed
in
front of me. My heart was pounding so hard I
thought
I'd faint! But everyone was very nice. The
dealers
and the boxman just smiled and patiently waited
as I
asked for a $500 marker. I
threw the dice and
kept rolling the dice for 23 minutes! A crowd
had
gathered around the table to watch and high
rollers
were increasing their bets faster than I could
roll
the next pass. It was so exciting! I really
didn't
bet as well as I could have. It was too fast
and I
was too excited. Nonetheless, I won
almost $1,000
starting with only $5 bets and increasing. I
was
hooked. This was the biggest rush I had ever
experience gambling. In the past I had played
BlackJack and thought it exciting but
after
Craps, 21
is a slow, dull game. I continued to play Craps on our trips and got better each time.
A SHEIK DROPS BY
Many years ago, or I should say several. I was playing Black Jack at the Dunes and quite enjoying myself. My date had drifted off to the other side of the casino to play poker. As I placed my bet, a foreign gentleman handed me a card and nodded. He begged my pardon and then said that his employer wanted to have a drink with me. Taken somewhat aback. I replyed that if his employer wished to have a drink with me, he should ask me himself. The man quietly left while apologizing for disturbing me. I then looked down at the card he had handed me. His employer was "some sheik or other". The other players at the table smiled and rather looked at me in an odd way. A few moments later , the man returned begging my pardon again. He gave a small bow and then gestured to his side. I turned to look, as he endeavored to introduce his employer (some sheik or other dressed in a black tuxedo. I was stunned. The sheik took my hand and kissed it and asked if I minded if he joined me. My jaw still dropped, he placed himself in the chair next to mine and dismissed his gentleman friend; who dropped back several yards but remained attentive. I was offered a drink. I explained that my date was in the casino at the poker table and would be joining me shortly. The sheik said he did not mind and looked forward to meeting him. I then said that I would prefer champagne. He replied "but of course". He turned and gestured to his gentleman and quietly chatted with him. Next thing I know, the pitboss showed up at our table. He said, he was sorry that champagne buckets were not allowed out on the casino floor but would be happy to have it brought over to the inside of the pit area and place it by our Black Jack dealer. Which he did. Then, the sheik instructed him to bring two more bottles and serve our other table companions. That it would indeed be rude to branish champagne in front of them and not offer them the same. Needless to say I was totally enchanted. It's not everyday that a Sheik drops by.
"TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS"
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse; Some patrons were hung-over by the bar with no care In hopes that their courage would remember why they were there, The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While the adults went out gambling, winnings danced in their heads. And mamma in her jewelry and Dad in his smoker Had just settled down for a long night of poker, When deep from the casino there arose such a clatter. I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter. Away to the roulette wheel I did flash, Pushed back the crowd and squeezed through the mass. The marker on the edge of the red corner showed Gave the player a glimpse of the numbers in that row. When what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a short little dealer and eight more in the rear. With a little old lady, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be a trick. More rapid than eagles she braced for her game, And she whistled, and shouted and called her numbers as they came; "Now, six! now, eight! now nine and eleven! On, sixteen! on twenty! on thirty and seven! To the top of the red row! Every number was her call. Now dash away! dash away! She won them all! As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle mount to the sky. So up to the table top the chips how they grew, With the rack full of red ones and green ones and blue. And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the slots The ringing and chiming of coins, quite a lot. As I drew in my hand, and was turning around, Down the aisle I could see more gamblers abound. One dressed all in fur from his head to his ankle, And his hands were all calloused from pulling the handle; A bundle of tokens he flung in his cup, And he looked like a winner. We all gave him "thumbs-up". His eyes--how they twinkled! his dimples how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry! His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow; The stump of a credit card he held tight in his teeth. And the new friends he was making encircled him like a wreath; He had a broad face and a little round belly, That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly. He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf; And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself. A wink of his eye and a twist of his head, Soon gave me to know he was thousands ahead. He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And filled all the casino cups, then turned with a jerk. And laying his finger aside of his nose, And giving a nod to the cashier he rose, He sprang to the exit to the valet gave a whistle, And away they all flew like men chased with a pistol. But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight, "HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, GOOD LUCK GAMBLING TONIGHT!
COMING SOON! My Hot Shoot. The last days of the Stardust, comped' show&dinner. The works!
