When I first saw Dozer, he was about 7 weeks old. While his littermates were running around & wrestling, he came over & laid in my lap & looked up at me with those big brown eyes. It was love at first sight. To tell you the truth, I didn't want a Pit Bull, my husband did. But, he convinced me to go look at this litter & Dozer stole my heart the minute I saw him. He was the same sweet, cuddly, mellow dog his whole life. He had his fiesty moments, but all in all, he was a big couch potato. He changed many people's minds about Pit Bulls & was a true ambassador for the breed. He had gone in many parades, breed demos & dog education classes for children & was a great dog to use for socializing puppies. He never met a person he didn't like & he loved children, cats & other dogs too. He also was be a bit spoiled rotten, but he was very deserving of it. Sadly, Dozer was diagnosed with bone cancer on June 23rd, 2000. We had him put to rest on Monday, February 19th, 2001. He had complications & we didn't want him to suffer needlessly. Now he's happy & healthy up in heaven. We'll see him again someday. Until then, rest in peace sweet Chickapee. You'll forever be in our hearts.
