The final grade will be based on group projects (30%), one midterm (30%) and a final examination (40%).

| Groups of 3-5 Students will be organized during the laboratory discussion sections. Each group will complete two projects, which will be published as pages on the World Wide Web. The first project will be to describe a site on campus from several different perspectives. The second project will be an in-depth research project addressing one of the human impacts on the environment that we discuss in this course. Groups will work with their teaching assistant to choose and research their topic from the course materials. This material will then be presented as a page on the World Wide Web. Group projects will be graded by team members, other teams, and the TA. |
Examinations will consist
of both short answer
and long essay questions. The midterm will be taken during a class
period to be announced, and the final will be given during the time
given in the Course Schedule. The questions on the exams will be taken
from a list of questions given out a week prior to the exams. Since the
questions will be given out before hand, the answers will be expected to
be complete, accurate, detailed, and well written.
