Ranger Exes Memorial - Others

ARTHUR SAMUEL BECK, 90, died at his home after a lengthy illness. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX. Mr. Beck was born in Stephens County and attended school in Bullock. He married Una Oneda Bowen in Ranger in 1980. He worked for TP Oil as a supervisor, Olin Smith Welding, and Reynolds Welding of McCamie before returning to Ranger in 1975. He was a previous Mason and a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors at the time of his death include his wife of Ranger; three daughters, Beverly Stewart, Sue Simmons, and Jackie Bush, all of Ranger; one son, Ron Beck of Austin; one sister, Alta Carroll; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. WIFE: UNA ONEIDA BOWEN BECK went home to be with the Lord January 2, 2014 at the age of 95 years young. Burial was at the Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX. Una was born October 24, 1918 in Leander, TX to Oliver & Pearlie Mae Mills Bowen. She attended school in Colony. While Una did work outside the home from time to time, she considered herself a Homemaker first. She worked for approximately 6 years for the Green Thumb organization. Una loved to stay busy. She was an accomplished quilter and loved to do crafts. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ranger. Una is preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands: Louis James Duncan and Arthur Samuel Beck, 4 sisters: Verble Lee Bowen, Lela Mae Isabell, Dorothy Joyce Seymour, & Pauline Laverne Breneman. She is survived by one daughter Jackie Bush (RHS-1956) and Jackie’s husband Alford, four grandchildren: Donald Hooks, Ronald Hooks, Elaine Hale, and Ronnie Bush and his wife Tiffany. She is also survived by numerous great- grandchildren, great–great-grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.
