Ranger Exes Memorial - The Faculty

EVA LONG BOBO, 96, who taught school for 19 years before going to college and getting a degree, died on August 6, 1992 in Eastland, TX. Born on Feb. 17, 1895, in Comanche, TX, she was a high school graduate and received her bachelor's degree in teaching from North Texas State University in 1937 and her master's degree from Hardin-Simmons in 1950. Before receiving her degrees, she taught public school in Proctor from 1918-20, in Gustine from 1920-22, in DeLeon from 1922-25, in Ranger from 1926-33, and in Breckenridge from 1934-49. She returned to Ranger in 1949 and taught public school until 1961 and a private kindergarten class from 1961-67 when she retired. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ranger, the 1920 Club, the Garden Club and the American Association University of Women. She was the widow of E.H. Bobo. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX.
