Dustin Carpenter DUSTIN EDWARD CARPENTER, JR., 61, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on April 9, 2009, at his home in Mansfield with family and friends by his side. Dustin was born in Columbus, OH on Dec. 8, 1947, to Dustin Sr. and Marian Carpenter. He proudly served his country in the Air Force. While raising his family, he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master’s in Business from Abilene Christian University. He worked for Southwestern Bell which ultimately became Alcatel-Lucent; where he retired as a Senior Project Manager in January of 2008 after 29 years of loyal service. Dustin was highly respected and liked by his co-workers and colleagues. He raised his two sons and later gained two daughters to complete his family. Dustin recently remarried and just celebrated one year of marriage with Lillie Carol Carpenter. They spent the first eight months traveling and enjoying his new extended family before being diagnosed with Lung Cancer on Christmas Day in 2008. He will be remembered most for his love & personal convictions. He was often admired by his family and friends for the way he loved his wives, children, family and friends. He has served as an awesome example of Christ’s love to others and will be greatly missed! Dustin was preceded in death by his father, Dustin E. Carpenter, Sr.; sister, Bonnlyn Rucker Carpenter; and his second wife, Sharon Carpenter. He leaves behind his wife, Carol Carpenter; son Geoff Carpenter and his fiancée, Alicia Rector; son, Dustin and April Carpenter and grandsons, Beau and Seth; daughter, Tonia Nevala; daughter, Wendy and Gary Smith and grandson, Jesse; mother, Marian Carpenter; sister, Shailene Graham; and countless other family and friends.
