Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1960

Mary Getts Calhoun MARY JUDY GETTS CALHOUN went to be with her Lord on Sept. 20, 2021 at the age of 79. She was born at home in Gladewater, TX on June 10, 1942. She attended Young School and Ranger High School in the Class of 1960 at Ranger, TX. Judy married Jimmy C. Calhoun in Oct. of 1958 at Wade Baptist Church. She graduated Tulsa University in 1970. Judy taught Antlers E.S. for 25 years, and thoroughly enjoyed the several years she worked at Betsy's Quilts. She loved quilting in her spare time and was currently working on an embroidered butterfly quilt. Judy loved her daughters, and missed her special granddaughter, Kristin very much. She loved all her grandsons immensely and enjoyed hearing about their lives. She could barely wait for Canaan to run into her house yelling, "Hey Meemaw!! You got any chocolate milk?!" Judy is preceded in death by her husband: Jimmy C. Calhoun; parents: Ralph Page Getts & Virginia Isabel Judy Getts Elmore (RHS-1931); sisters: Bettye Kite, Peggy Clark, and Carol Getts Belding (RHS-1957); brother: Richard Getts (RHS-1955); grandson: Joshua Mobbs; & granddaughter: Kristin Mobbs. She is survived by her daughter: Esther Gentry and husband Jim, and Donna Calhoun; sister: Jeanne Getts Jackson (RHS-1958); grandsons: Joshua Gentry, Caleb Gentry, Jacob Gentry, Steven Mobbs, & Stuart Mobbs and wife Candy and soon to be great grand- daughter Eliana Mobbs; and great-grandsons: Corvan Ward and Canaan Gentry; as well as numerous beloved friends and family members. Jimmy was born Jan. 7, 1940 in Bennington, OK to William Everett & Pearl Eva (Hall) Calhoun. He married Judy Getts in Oct. of 1958 in Wade, OK. Together they raised two daughters Esther and Donna. Jimmy enjoyed ranching and doing paint and body repair for many years. He was a member of the Antlers First Baptist Church in Antlers. Jimmy will be truly missed by all of his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: William Everett and Pearl Eva Calhoun; brothers: Clyde Calhoun, Williams Everett "Sonny" Calhoun Jr.; sisters: Edith Heath and Norma Harris; grand- children: Kristin Mobbs and Joshua Mobbs. Jimmy is survived by his wife Judy Calhoun of the home; daughters: Esther Gentry and husband Jim, Donna Mobbs all of Antlers; siblings: Joe Roy Calhoun and wife Joan of Ardmore, OK, Brenda Phillips & husband Bob of Bokchito, OK, Dorothy Kellum of Bennington, OK and Aaron Don Calhoun of Wade; grandsons: Joshua Gentry of Antlers, Caleb Gentry and wife Courtney of Durant, OK, Steven Mobbs of Antlers, Stuart Mobbs of Camp Lejeune, NC, Jacob Gentry of Antlers; great- grandsons: Corvan Ward and Canaan Gentry both of Durant; along with other relatives & friends.
