Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1950

Tommy Huckaby TOMMY CLYDE HUCKABY, 74, passed away on Nov. 15, 2006 in Eastland, TX, with military honors held at Necessity Cemetery. He was born Tommy Clyde Huckaby on Dec. 7, 1931 in Caddo to Richard Claude and Rhoda Elizabeth Kesterson Huckaby. He was raised in the Caddo, Necessity and Ranger area. He was a graduate of Ranger High School at Ranger, TX & Cisco Jr. College. He married Marjorie Catlin in March of 1951 in Breckenridge. He served in the U.S. Army during Korea, being honorably discharged. He worked as a service station attendant for F &R Oil Company in Ranger early in his career. He worked for and became manager of Premier Service Station in Eastland, on the corner of Marsh and Main Street for 20+ years. In the 1970’s he began working for R.E. Dye in Breckenridge and in 1978 opened Huckaby Tire Service in Breckenridge, which he sold in 1982. He enjoyed raising cattle, goats and farming. Fishing & hunting were favorite pastimes for him. He was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Breckenridge and VFW Post 4136 in Eastland County. At the time of his death, Tommy was survived by a daughter, Margaret O’Neil (RHS-1970) of Evant, TX; a son, Tim Huckaby (RHS-1986) of Eastland; 3 sisters, Mabel Carter and Leona Huckaby Carter (RHS-1942) of Abilene and Minnie Huckaby Dunson of Early; 9 grand- children; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Huckaby in 1991; a daughter, Marilyn Kay Jackson (RHS-1976) in 1982; a son, Tommy Wayne Huckaby in 1956; 4 brothers, Richard Huckaby, Eulon Huckaby, W.E. Huckaby, and Weldon Huckaby.
