James Varner JAMES ERNEST VARNER, 74, a retired automobile mechanic, passed away on Oct. 16, 2006 at his home, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery at Ranger, TX. James Varner was born Oct. 13, 1932, in Midland. He attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1950 and served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He moved to FT. Worth in 1965. He was a Baptist. James was preceded in death by his first wife, Sonja Stagner Varner (RHS-1958) in 1980; one son, James "Skipper" Varner, in 1973; and a brother, Donald Graham Varner (RHS-1952) in 1995. Survivors: Loving wife, Judy Varner; sons, John Varner and wife, Cheryl, of Fort Worth and Jason Varner of Fort Worth; stepdaughter, Jodie McCarty and husband, David; stepson, Jason Jarratt and wife, Elicia; grand- children, Ronnie, Brice, Bradley, Amie, Maggie and Heather; stepbrother, Don Mac Edwards; and sister- in-law, Jo An Varner.
