DAVID LEE WILLIAMS, 72, passed away in Ranger on Dec. 26,
2003. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger.
Mr. Williams was born on January 14, 1931 in Ranger to
Addie H. and Verdie (Wilhelm) Williams. He married
Bettye L. Wymer (RHS-1950) on May 21, 1949 in Ranger.
He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member
of the First Christian Church of Ranger. Mr. Williams
worked in the oil business as a drilling consultant in
Libya, Venezuela, West Africa, Bahamas, Mexico, Egypt,
Kuwait, Brazil, the Rocky Mountain area of the United
States, and West Texas. His career spanned from 1950
to 1994, at which time he retired in Ranger.
Mr. Williams' survivors include wife, Bettye Williams
of Ranger; daughter, Jolene Williams (RHS-1969) of
Ranger; brothers, Bobby Gene Williams (RHS-1948) of
Arlington and Kenneth Lee Williams (RHS-1950) of Ranger;
sisters, Geneva Lois Garbo and Ruth Williams, both
of Arlington; grandchildren, Robert David Needham and
Justin Gene Koemer, both of Ranger; four great-grand-
children; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers,
A.J. Williams (RHS-1945), Elmer Williams (RHS-1945),
and Linden A. Williams (RHS-1943).
