Bill Townzen BILL E. "RED" TOWNZEN , 72, of Midland, TX died on Jan. 14, 2002 in Big Spring, with burial at Resthaven Memorial Park. He was born in Strawn, TX on June 9, 1930 to Arthur G. Townzen & Ida Mae Barron Townzen. He graduated from Ranger High School in 1948 and attended Ranger Jr. College. He graduated from Sul Ross College & served in the U.S. Army as a Forward Observer in the Korean War. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for many years and owned Overhead Door Company of 25 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Golf Course Road Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Donna Townzen, and three brothers, Tom Townzen, James Townzen (RHS-1941) and Bobby Townzen (RHS-1965) who was killed along with his mother in a train-car collision near downtown Ranger in 1961. He is survived by his wife, Sue King Townzen of Midland; five sons, Steve Miller of Abilene, Conn Townzen of Houston, Brock Townzen of San Antonio, Wade Townzen of San Angelo, and Shalor Townzen of Childress; one brother, Jack Townzen (RHS-1944) of Midland; one sister, Mary Lou Townzen Samford (RHS-1949) of Austin; and nine grandchildren. A nephew, Terry Guy Townzen (RHS-1962), who lives in Arlington, TX.
