JAMES TAFT JUSTICE, 79, of Matagorda, TX passed
away on April 2, 2009, in Lake Jackson, TX. He
was born May 21, 1929 in Desdemona, TX to Oris
Lee Justice & Mary M. Hildebrand Justice.
He was a long time resident of Ranger, TX and in
the graduating class of 1946 at Ranger High School.
He was a retired Production Supervisor for Uniroyal/
Goodrich and a resident of Matagorda for the past
18 years, a member of Masonic Lodge #7 of Matagorda,
a member of the Matagorda United Methodist Church,
and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his
children: Starla Justice of Matagorda, Roy Justice
and wife Wanita of Mannsville, OK, Joni Beamish
of Denison, TX, Kathy Horn and husband Rodney of
Ardmore, OK, and John Walton and wife Elaine of
Houston, TX; by a brother: Bobby Justice (RHS-
1953) of Eastland, TX; by grandchildren: Robbie
Keeling, Jamie Keeling, Wade Livingston, Cole
Livingston, Gavin Thompson, Lucy Hicks, Traci
Carter, Adam Walton, Cody Walton and Olivia
Ostrand; and by four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Mattie Lee
Hoot Justice; by his parents: Oris Lee and Mary
M. Justice; and by a grandson: Trent Walton.
