Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1942

BONNIE VEA ROARK ROSS, 86, of Midland, TX died on Aug. 3, 2011 at a local nursing home, with interment at Resthaven Memorial Park. Bonnie was born Dec. 27, 1924 in Greenville, TX to Esther Elizabeth Williams and William Lewis Roark. She attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1942. and married Joe Ross in 1942 at Eastland County. Upon Joe's return from serving over three years overseas in WWII, they moved to Odessa, TX, & later to Midland in the early 50's. Joe passed away in 2009 and they were married 67 years. Bonnie was a lifetime member of the PTA and a member of Bellview Baptist Church. She was an excellent book- keeper and worked several years for Lydick Roofing. She enjoyed her vegetable garden and pecan trees but took the greatest pleasure from her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren. Survivors include her four children and their spouses: daughter, Linda Coe and her husband, Lloyd of Cedar Park, TX; daughter Carol Benfatti and her husband, John of Granbury, TX; Joe Wayne Ross & wife, Carol, of Broken Arrow, OK; and daughter, Debbie Caraway, & husband, Lynn, of Midland. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Heather McDaniel & husband, Darren, of Cedar Park; Kevin Coe of Austin, TX; Michael Farmer of Bentonville, AR; Elizabeth St. John of San Antonio; Joseph Ross of Dallas; Bethany Ross of Broken Arrow, OK; and Emily Caraway Roberts and husband Jeremy of Midland. She is also survived by her three great-grand- children Meghan and Marley McDaniel, and Hannah St. John. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe, and her beloved sister, Velia Roark Bea (RHS-1943), and brother C.L. Roark (RHS-1950).
