Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1942

CATHERINE SUE YONKER ROBERTS, 66, was born in Ranger, TX to Tom Yonker (RHS-1925) and Moselle Thompson Yonker on Jan. 21, 1926 and died in 1992. She attended St. Rita's Catholic School and was a member of the Ranger High School Class of 1942. Her sister was Margaret Yonker Andrus. SISTER: MARGARET MARY "PEGGY" YONKER ANDRUS, 71, passed away November 8, 1999. Peggy was born April 17, 1928, in Ranger, TX, to Tom, Sr. and Moselle Yonker. She attended St. Rita's School and may have attended Ranger High School but class unknown. She finished at Freer High School, where she was football sweetheart, class favorite, yearbook editor, and drum major. She received her bachelor's degree in biology from Texas A&I (Texas A&M University-Kingsville) in 1948. She enjoyed a long professional career in the oil and gas industry in Corpus Christi, and was retired from Freeport-McMoRan Oil and Gas Company and Everest Minerals Corporation. Peggy devoted her life to the large and loving family who survive her, including her two daughters Nancy (Matt) Jacobs of East Hartford, Connecticut, and Jane Andrus of Houston; three sons John (Priscilla) Andrus of Austin, David Andrus of Corpus Christi, and Jim (Carol) Andrus of Victoria; former husband Dick (Alice) Andrus of Rockport, stepdaughter Sarah (Frank) Hunt of Portland; sisters-in-law Dolores Yonker and Jean Carson of Corpus Christi; special friends Olivia and Albert Puga, Jr.; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews. The many friends she loved, and who cherished her, cannot be counted. She will be reunited in Heaven with her parents, her sister Sue Yonker Robert (RHS-1942), and brother Tom Yonker, Jr.
