Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1942

Charles Brown CHARLES "CHARLIE" V. BROWN, 76, of Big Spring, TX died on Jan. 9, 2002 at Midland, TX, following a long illness, with interment in the Trinity Memorial Park. Charles was born to William M. and Verna L. Brown on August 8, 1925 in Pernell, OK. He was raised in and attended schools in Ranger and Thurber, TX. Charles graduated from Texas A&M in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps serving during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He married Carolyn Ducker (RHS-1945) at Mineral Wells, TX, in 1951 and she preceded him in death in 1988. Mr. Brown later married Frankie Coleman in 1990 at Ruidoso, NM. He was a Methodist and had been employed in various engineering positions from 1948 until his death. Survivors at the time of his death are his wife, Frankie Brown of Big Spring; a son, Bill Brown and wife, Julie of Midland; daughters, Mary Adamson and husband, Bruce of Ganado, TX and Catherine McMurtrey of Big Spring; a step-son, Steve Coleman and wife, Joyce of Lubbock; a step-daughter, Charlotte Williams and husband, Jim of Coahoma; 8 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren.
