Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1941

Jack Pearsall JOHN FRANCIS "JACK" PEARSALL, 90, peacefully passed away March 4, 2015, in Houston, TX. He was a man of integrity, intelligence, wisdom & wit, dedicated to his family and loved by friends. He was born Dec. 30, 1924 in Ranger, TX to Francis & Lela Pearsall. He attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1941. In Feb. of 1951, he married Marlilla Simonson. John was preceded in death by his parents, Francis & Lela Pearsall; his wife, Marlilla Pearsall; and grandson Jacob Pearsall. He is lovingly remembered by his 4 children, David and wife Barbara, Mark and wife Jill, Marla and husband Charles, Darrell and wife Anita; sister Marjorie Pearsall Gordon (RHS-1944) who married Byron Gordon (RHS-1944), niece Kathy Smyers; grandsons Jeremy, Sean and Ryan; granddaughters Vanessa and Lindsay; great-granddaughters Lainie, Haley, Madison, and Ashlyn; great-grandsons Brody and Dylan. John served his country during WWII as a sergeant in the Army in the 99th Infantry Division, European Theater of Operations. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge & after the war was part of the security detail at the War Crimes Tribunal in Nuremburg, Germany. As a soldier he received the following awards: Bronze Star, Silver Star, Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct, American Campaign, European Campaign with 3 Bronze Stars, WWII Victory, & Army Occupation. After serving his country, he attended the University of Texas where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. He worked as a Process/Project Engineer for the Fluor Corporation until he retired, then worked for the Trinity River Authority for 10 years. John was a member First United Methodist Church and St. Luke's Episcopal Church, being involved with the Oasis Resale Shop. He was a resident of Shelter Cove for 30 years. Jack was 2nd Vice-President of the Ranger Exes Association in 1981/82. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball, woodworking, fishing, square dancing (Boots & Babes) and spending time with his grandchildren.
