POLLY SEYMOUR ADKINS, 86, went to be with her
Lord and Savior on May 12, 2011, in Tyler, TX,
with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX.
She was born March 30, 1924, in Thurber to the late
Willie Leslie & Dessie Mae Crane Seymour. Polly
graduated from Ranger High School in the Class of
1941. She was class secretary & a RHS cheerleader.
She has lived in Tyler the past 14 years, having
also lived in Dallas, Crane and Ranger. Polly was
a retired school teacher and was a member of Green
Acres Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by
her first husband, John Earl Blackwell Jr. (RHS-1942),
& two sisters, Pansy Anne Seymour Colston (RHS-1949)
and Pat Seymour Morrow (RHS-1944). Polly attended
the first meeting of the Ranger Exes Association
and was treasurer.
Survivors are her husband, G.W. "Wimpy" Adkins (RHS-
1941) of Bullard; two daughters and a son-in-law,
Melinda Sue Polson of Midland and Melissa Jane and
Duane Spikes of Jacksonville; three grandchildren,
Julia, Melinda and Matthew; and seven great-grand-
children.
