Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1941

Howard Hinman HOWARD HINMAN, 86, of San Jose, CA died May 27, 2009 following a massive stroke. He was born in Ranger, TX, one of ten children of Andy and Ida Hinman. Howard attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1941. Howard served in the U.S. Army (1943-46), and was a decorated veteran of the Battle of the Bulge, awarded two Bronze Stars and other commendations. After the war, he joined the Air Force Reserves and was called to active duty 1950-51. Howard was a resident of San Jose for over 50 years, working as an accountant & office manager for several general contracting companies before retiring from Ernest E. Pestana, Inc. Howard was a kind, gentle, and loving man with a bright smile and a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed travel, get-togethers with family and friends, and very, very dry martinis. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. At the time of his death, he was survived by his partner, Bruce Henderson, and by many nieces and nephews, including Monica Bates (Oakhurst, CA), Randy Knight (Post Falls, ID) Shraddha Knight (Valley Center, CA), Brandon Knight (Huntington Beach, CA), Mike Knight (Mission Viejo, CA), & Garlan Hinman (Bay City, TX). His sisters were: Betty Hinman Knight (RHS-1943), Juanita Hinman Fortenberry (RHS-1929), Patsy Ruth Hinman Densmore (RHS-1945), Mary Hinman Wilshusen (RHS-1943), & Katherine Hinman Rumley (RHS-1939), Uva Hinman Neil (RHS-1931), Ada Mae Hinman Wyatt (RHS-1933). His brothers were: Garlan "Ox" Hinman (RHS- 1928) & Billy Hinman (RHS-1937).
