Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1939

Lloyd Howton LLOYD DOUGLAS HOWTON, 89, a retired research and development technician and World War II veteran, passed away Aug. 20, 2011, in Greenville, TX. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Lloyd was born Oct. 14, 1921, to Aaron & Lillie Howton in Stephens County. He was a graduate of Ranger High School in the Class of 1939 at Ranger, TX and entered a career in the aircraft industry in 1942. He married Marjorie Arney in Dec. of 1943, in Dallas. Lloyd was a beloved husband, father and "Pa-Pa" to his family. He was also a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Benbrook, TX. Lloyd was preceded in death by his son, Lloyd Douglas Howton Jr.; his parents; & brother, Aaron Howton Jr. (RHS-1941). Survivors at the time of his death: wife of 67 years, Marjorie Howton of Greenville; daughter, Linda Cardwell and husband, Mike, of Greenville; daughter-in-law, Carol Howton of Fort Worth; grandsons, Brad Cardwell and wife, Christi, of Caddo Mills, Matt Cardwell and wife, Nancy, of Carrollton and Kyle Howton and wife, Jessica, of Houston; step-granddaughter, Denise Prough of Fort Worth; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Marjorie Howton's brother, Robert Arney, of Schenectady, NY, passed away on April 16, 2016. He was born in Ranger & may have attended school there. Marjorie is presently living in Greenville, TX.
