Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1939 RJC

Herman Bryan HERMAN BRYAN, 36, was born July 18, 1922 and died on Dec. 4, 1958. He is buried along with his parents and brothers at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. L.N. Bryan of Ranger. He joined the Navy on Nov. 14, 1942. He was a graduate of Ranger High School, Ranger Junior College & attended the University of Texas and Tulane. Before going into service he was employed by the Standard Steel & Fabricating Company in Seattle, Washington. Electrician's Mate 3rd Class Bryan received training at Farragut, Idaho, Ames, Iowa, Virginia and at the A.N.T.S. at Treasure Island, San Francisco, California, prior to foreign service. He was commissioned an officer during his service in WWII. He served in the Caribbean area, Okinawa, East China Sea and Japan on a minesweeper. He was awarded American Theater Ribbon, Victory and AP Ribbons with two battle stars. He was discharged in 1946. His brother, Buford Bryan (RHS-1942) also served in the Navy in WWII and his brother Ramon Bryan (RHS-1942) served in the Army Air Corps & brother Eual Bryan (RHS-1934) served in the Army. A sister, Vera Bryan Bell, was in the RHS Class of 1936. At the time of his death, Herman Bryan, M.D. a radiologist, was associated with Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, TX.
