Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1938 RJC

Frances Ussery Brantley Cleo Brantley ALLETA FRANCES USSERY BRANTLEY passed away on Aug. 8, 2011 in Pearland, TX. She had lived in Houston for many years and recently moved to an independent living facility in Pearland. Burial was in SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland. Frances was born Aug. 6, 1921. She graduated from Ranger High School in the Class of 1938 at Ranger, TX, & graduated from Ranger Jr. College in 1940. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of over 49 years, C.D. "Dock" Brantley and a sister, Leola Ussery Mathis (RHS-1946). At the time of her death, she was survived by her son, Lonnie Brantley & companion Marla Richardson; daughter, Alleta Burton & husband Jay; two brothers, Lonnie Ussery (RHS-1944) and Allen Andrew Ussery (RHS-1942); granddaughter, Natalie Lilley; great- grandchildren, Kevin Lilley and Cassidy Lilley; sister-in-law, Olga Ussery; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. HUSBAND: CLEO D. "DOC" BRANTLEY was born March 26, 1914, & died on Oct. 19, 1991, in Houston, TX. He graduated from Breckenridge High School & married Frances Ussery (RHS-1938). He was the son of Mrs. Ada Brantley of Breckenridge and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He entered the service in 1942, and received training at Camp Crowder and Kansas City, MO, Camp Murphy, FL, Ft. Monmouth, NJ, and Clinton, Ontario, Canada, before being located at Drew Field, Tampa, FL. Before going into the service he was employed by the Texas Police in Houston. Frances Brantley lives in Houston, as does their son Lonnie Brantley. Their daughter Alleta Brantley Burton lives in Kerrville, TX.
