ANNIE MARIE HILL HARRIS, age 88 of Breckenridge, TX
died on Jan. 25, 2009, with burial in the Necessity
Cemetery.
Annie Marie Hill was born on May 22, 1920 in Ranger,
TX, to parents, Albert Hill & Carrie Belle Long Hill.
She grew up in Ranger and graduated from Ranger High
School in 1938. Annie Marie married Roy Lee Harris
in July of 1938 in Ranger. Annie Marie & Roy moved to
Dallas in 1955 and later to Grand Prairies. For over
24 years, Annie Marie worked for Lee's Carpet in Dallas
where she was an office manager. She was also a true
homemaker for her family. Annie Marie enjoyed gardening
and caring for her home and family. She was a gracious
mother, raising her daughter, Sue, who became a career
school teacher for 32 years.
In 1979, the Harris' retired and moved to Breckenridge
from Grand Prairie. They were members of Bethany Baptist
Church, where Annie Marie taught the Gleaner?s Sunday
School Class for over 30 years. She was also very
active in the church's food pantry program. Annie Marie
was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Warren
Hill, Bert Hill, Dan Hill, Carl Hill, Guy Hill and Ike
Hill; one sister, Juanita Ruth Hill; and a granddaughter,
Elizabeth Katherine Roberts.
Annie Marie is survived by her husband, Roy L. Harris of
Breckenridge; one daughter, Sue Roberts of Killeen; one
granddaughter, Lea Mitchell of Copperas Cove; two grand-
children, Christopher David Purrington and Amber Marie
Purrington, both of Copperas Cove; one sister-in-law,
Ovella Turner of Breckenridge; and a host of nephews
& nieces.
