JOHN WILLIAM McKINNEY, 78, was a graduate
of Ranger High School in 1933. He was born May 28,
1914 and died in Ranger, TX on April 1, 1993. He
was first married to Valetta Louisa Simmons (RHS-1934)
& they had a daughter, Linda Kay McKinney (RHS-1957).
He later was married to Catherine Billings, formerly
of New York in July of 1952 at Albuquerque, NM. A
longtime Ranger resident, he was buried in Evergreen
Cemetery at Ranger.
WIFE: CATHERINE BILLINGS MCKINNEY, 89, of
Ranger, TX died Nov. 9, 1998, with burial at the
Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger.
Mrs. McKinney was born on Oct. 16, 1909 in Shaman
County, NY, to Hubert E. & Julia B. (Randolph)
Billings. She married John William McKinney in
July of 1952 at Albuquerque, NM. John was a 1933
graduate of Ranger High School. He preceded her
in death in 1993.
Mrs. McKinney was a buyer for the New York Stock
Exchange during her early years but had lived in
Ranger since 1950. She was a member of the First
Baptist Church & active as a Red Cross volunteer.
