Members of the Auxiliary consists of spouses, children, parents, siblings, grandparents, widows, wards, and friends of paid or volunteer firefighters, active, retired, or deceases of the Luling Fire Department. When the Auxiliary first formed, we had seven members. In a few short months we grew to 16 members.
The Auxiliary's purposes are to aid and assist the Fire Department and the City of Luling in emergencies and carry out relief projects to fire and disaster victims. We shall carry out charitable projects such as "fill the boot" for Muscular Dystrophy.
October, 1998 brought the rains and floods. The Auxiliary was there with helping hands to work in the shelters, provide food, comfort, and anything that was asked of the members. After the rains cleared the Auxiliary decided that there was still much to be done. The Auxiliary gathered clothes, food, & bedding and delivered those items to various cities surrounding Luling, Texas.
