Metallica are considered by some to be the greatest heavy metal group ever, while others think that they are sellout alternative wannabe's. I disagree with both of those opinions. I think that they are a solid metal band that have changed with the times. They are not alternative, and they are not the greatest metal band in the world. They are just Metallica.

This is definately the better of the Load albums. It is a solid cd all the way through with only one song I don't like on it. While this is definately Metallica's slowest album, it still rocks, just at a slower pace. The fastest song is Ain't My Bitch, and it is really good. A few of the songs, like King Nothing and The Cure sound like they could have come off of the Black Album, but most of the songs are very distorted, in a good way. Like Bleeding Me and The House That Jack Built. Those two songs rock! The Outlaw Torn is an incredibly long song that is awesome as well. 2x4 and Ronnie are also really good. In fact Ronnie is almost a blues song. It sounds kind of like Metallica playing ZZ Top. The only song on here that sucks is Poor Twisted Me! It is a terrible song that goes nowhere and does nothing for me. Aside from that song though, this a really good cd.
Best Songs:The House that Jack Built, King Nothing, The Outlaw Torn
RELOAD

Out of the Load albums, I would have to say that ReLoad is my least favorite. It is a good album, but the songs just don't quite hang with Load's selection. This cd does have some really good songs on it though. Fuel is the fastest song they have done since Blackened, which is all the way back to 1988! Devil's Dance and Where The Wild Things Are really rock. But, my favorite song on here is Carpe Diem Baby. It is kind of slow, but it really rocks. In fact, it features the only guitar solo on ReLoad by James Hetfield. Cool! What I can't understand is why that Metallica would have all of these good songs on here, and then pick Better Than You to be a single. Unforgiven II, and Fuel were really good singles and The Memory Remains was alright, but Better Than You plain out sucks! What a mistake guys! I guess the only other song I don't like would be Low Man's Lyric. It just has to much wierd stuff going on in it. It sounds like a friggin Scotish love ballad. All things in consideration though, this cd is still a good buy.
Best Songs:Carpe Diem Baby, Fuel, Devil's Dance
