Anthrax have changed a lot over the years. They started out like early Metallica and Megadeth: Thrash. Today their musical style is similar to Pantera's- Extremely Heavy. Through all the changes though, they still rock

STOMP 442

This is a pretty good cd. The sound here reminds me of Metallica's Black Album, but they seem a little bit more angry than Metallica. The best song on here is Tester. The song is friggin awesome and really heavy, and it also has some cool noises in the background. Another song I really like is In a Zone. I like how the beginning builds you up and then it starts kicking ass! King Size is another cool song. The guitar solo on it was done by Pantera's own Dimebag Darrell. In fact, nearly every song has a different guest guitarist doing the solo. But I am not complaining because they brought some awesome axemen in to do the job. Other really cool and heavy songs are Perpetual Motion, Riding Shotgun(another Dimebag solo),and Drop The Ball. My biggest complaint is that while almost every song is heavy, some of them just don't go anywhere. Fueled is a perfect example. It is really hard, it just does nothing for me. There are a few other like that on here, but other than that, I really can't find much to complain about. Fans of early Anthrax beware though, they are no longer thrash metal. They kinda followed Metallica's footsteps up until the Black Album. Don't worry, they haven't gone through the "Load" stage. Anyways, this is a good cd.

VOLUME 8-The Threat Is Real
8.1
Things are continuing to get better for Anthrax as this cd is a step up from their previous effort. They have found themselves a good groove and settled in it. This cd carries the same sound that Stomp 442 has, it just upgrades it a little. Their are a whole bunch of good riffs on here and Dimebag has returned to do more solo's. P&V is a catchy tune that keeps you moving and Inside Out realy jams. Also, Alpha Male and Killing Box are extremely good. Of course, I do have a few mild complaints. First off, CupaJoe and 604 have to be the stupidest songs I have ever heard. They have no point to them, just some senseless rambling. Also, Toast To The Extra's sucks pretty bad, it sounds like a damn country and western song. But, aside from these things, I guess I really have no other complaints. Oh, and I have to say that I like John Bush a lot better than Joey Belladonna. He is just a more powerful singer.

Best Songs:P&V, Inside Out, Alpha Male
