Lagasse-Sweet History:

Established in 1947 by Errol and Clint Lagasse as a mop manufacturing business in a small garage in New Orleans, Lagasse grew steadily, and in 1971, the Lagasse brothers, recognizing the Janitorial/Sanitation industry’s need for a wholesaler to the industry, transitioned from manufacturing to re-distribution. In 1986 Lagasse opened 3 additional locations outside of Louisiana and in 1990 they added 10 more distribution centers. It has built its reputation for service  through the addition of product lines, and entry into new market segments, including Food Service, Paper and Safety and Industrial.

In 1996, Lagasse was acquired by United Stationers Supply Company. United Stationers is the nation's largest wholesale distributor of office supplies, furniture, computer peripherals, janitorial – sanitation, food service and paper supplies. United Stationers was founded as Utility Supply Company in 1906, and incorporated as United Stationers in 1922. United Stationers went public in 1981. When acquired by United Stationers in 1996, annual Lagasse sales were $80 million and Lagasse operated 14 warehouses.

In 2001, with annual sales at $200 million, Lagasse increased its presence in the Northeast when it acquired Peerless Paper Mills, Inc., the leading wholesale distributor of Paper and Janitoria/Sanitation products to the Northeast.

In 2005, Lagasse acquired Sweet Paper Sales Corp., a firm with nearly 50 years experience serving the Foodservice, Paper and Janitorial/Sanitation industries. Sweet Paper was founded in 1956 by Samuel Scheck in Miami, Florida and grew to 450 employees and 10 locations when it was acquired by Lagasse. The family values and relationships Sweet Paper had with its customers and vendors made the integration of these two great companies a clear fit. With the acquisition, the combined companies continued to conduct business as LagasseSweet.

Over the past decade, Lagasse has expanded to include the industry’s definitive catalog, a tool that enables our wholesale distributors to promote the products and grow their businesses. Lagasse has also pioneered many distribution efficiency and cost-to-serve initiatives that have driven savings and economic benefit for customers and vendors.

Information About the Catalog and Ordering:

Ordering: Full Case Quantity

Lagasse only distributes a product in its full case quantity - they will not open a full case in order to sell just one or two items from that case. In other words, a full case must be ordered.  The number of items per case for each product item is indicated in the catalog.

- Pool Your Resources -

Form A Buying Group of Several Businesses or Households

There may be some items which you would like to order, but you may not want or need a full case of that item. You can get friends, relatives, neighbors, or other businesses involved and form a buying group to place an order together. The advantage of forming such a group is that you will be able to split the costs of buying items in a case quantity - and still be able to save money on those items.

Pricing and Order Forms

We are a wholesale distributor, and as such, you will receive a discounted price. To obtain your actual cost per case on any of the items from the various catalog sections, simply email us the Order Form/Price Quote (which you can download on the next page), or send us a list containing the stock number of each item, along with the number of cases for each item, and we will work up a price quote and send it back to you by email.

LagasseSweet manufactures the Boardwalk line of products, which are scattered throughout the catalog. They are clearly labeled as Boardwalk items - the individual item numbers all have the "BWK" prefix. You may have seen the Boardwalk brand products for sale in SAM's, and in use at various time-share condos, motels, restaurants, hospitals, and so on. Since Lagasse manufactures that line of products, we receive better pricing from the company for the Boardwalk brand products, which we pass on to our customers.

You can click on the "Warehouse Locations" tab at the top of this page to see a map and a list of all 31 warehouses. At this time, any orders you place must be picked up in person at the warehouse nearest your actual location. The warehouses do not accept order forms or payments - they are merely wholesale distribution centers. (Note - In some instances, your order can be shipped to you via UPS Ground.)

Payment Methods

At this time, there is a $100 minimum order amount.

Your payment must clear before we can place your order with the Lagasse company.

We can accept either U.S. Postal money orders (made payable to J. M. Jones) which should be enclosed with your order forms through regular mail; or we can accept credit card payments online through PayPal.

If you choose to complete your payment through PayPal, you can simply email us your order forms, then we will either have PayPal email you a request for payment, or we will have PayPal generate an email link which we can email directly to you. PayPal is a secure online payment site - sellers never see their customers' credit card numbers. Millions of internet customers use their service every month.
