FDATND-The Magic,The Myth, The Music
The following clips are bits and pieces of the complete FDATND catalog.
These clips will be listed in anti-chronological order beginning at a random
point and ending in a similar, but all together different, random point.
Cousin Kenny says "Go For It"
(FDATND's 1st non-full-length recording which
was released in the summer of '95...on a side note, this album went Tin)
Cruisin'
This song gives an accurate description of the rock & roll lifestyle the members
of FDATND led during the height of their fame. As big time rock stars the guys
had all the time in the world to go cruisin' around Lakewood (Sections 5 & 10)without
a worry in their heads except if they were the "coolest cats in their
neighborhood"...which of course they were, especially when compared to the likes
of all 26 of the alphabetically named Von Gontards and their beer keg mailbox.
Heat It Up/Eat It Up
This was voted by superfans as Frank D.'s best song utilizing the backslash.
The lyrics in this tune express the band's fascination with loads, whoppers,
and Edmund Fountain.
Three Seconds At The Water Fountain
Instead of typing up something fresh I have opted to paste my description of the
song that I sent out to UPenn, NYU, and Northwestern with my transfer
application:
This song is the unofficial anthem of Moore Elementary School graduates who under the guidance of physical education guru, Coach Michael Cahee, were only allowed a precious three seconds at the water fountain after running laps in the hot Texas sun.
No Rulz (With a Z)
This is perhaps Frank D's most powerful song, which is symbolized with the
unorthodox usage of the letter "Z". The first time LO performed this song
in practice we knew we had a winner, his anselmo-esque vocal stylings coupled
with his daunting physique made damn sure of that...The unbridled force in this song caused
bandmates and fans alike to jump up and down, literally.
Rare Bootlegs-Recorded Live In My Room
(These recordings were not available during FDATND's reign,
but once released they posthumously went Lead)
Bucur
This song is dedicated to Bucur Mosciescu, the Romanian mechanic/vampire that
became an integral part of Frank D.'s lifestyle. Bucur, unlike many other popular
prophets and messiahs, is a real person. Just ask Mart, he ate dinner at my
house with both Bucur and my sister's semi-retarded friend. It is important to
note that he will fix your dashboard if you'll be his lawyer.
Rosh Hashana
What better way to celebrate holiday festivities than to write a song?
It might not be 5756 now, but that lunar year will be in our hearts forever
thanks to this song.
Trash
FDATND collectively hates trash. In this song we talk about what we would like
to do to all of those alcoholics, drug addicts, and inhabitants of Village in
the Hood.
Limited Warranty
(Frank D's first official predecessor...this stuff is from
1994. Unfortunately this album didn't make the alkali metals chart, but it did
go Tungsten)
Feelings
This song features the smooth sounds of Alain Chamberlain and Jared's best Axl
W.(Winthrop?) Rose impersonation. I like my feelings, feelings baby.
Tortured Chihuahua
This was one of the Berent brothers first compositions, actually I think Jesse
wrote it back when he was a fetus. For all of you D'Angelo fans, Nick used to play
this song with Jesse. Give me back my Chocolate Milk...Wait a minute!!!! I just
remembered, Cody Metcalf tried to butt in and become a member of Limited
Warranty after hearing our tape in Ms. Billedo (Mrs. Fagerquist)'s Physical
Science class...He came to my house and sang along with it, it was hilarious.
He was trying his best to sound like Nelson, which was his favorite band. He
also knew how to play November Rain on the Piano, which would have been cool
if Jared wasn't still trying to corner the market on Axl impersonations.
After his "try-out" we never called him again.

If you are interested in obtaining a cassette tape of the full recordings, email me
using the link below. The market system, as defined by Adam Smith, will dictate
the cost of the recording. Be forewarned, we only have a limited supply of
recordings and demand will surely be high.
