Welcome to the Hill Country Community Bands webpage. Our band was formed in 1991. In the beginning we were called Wimberley Community Band, but because our membership is from all over the surrounding hill country, we changed our name to the Hill Country Community Band. We have members from Wimberley, Dripping Springs, Kyle, San Marcos, New Braunsfel, Austin and Lakeway, Buda, Universal City and Lytle.

Our band is made up of 60 talented musicians. We range in age from 7th graders to members that are 70+. Because our members volunteer their time and talents to play in the band, our performing band numbers between 35 and 40. Our concert season starts in the fall and runs through the Fourth of July. We take a break and then resume practices at the end August. There are no tryouts or fees for becoming a member of our band. We practice every Tuesday night from 7 - 8:30 P.M. in the Wimberley Middle School Band Hall.

We play a broad range of music ranging from traditional marches to broadway and show tunes, oldies and pop music and classical pieces. We are available to play for community activities, organizations and groups. In the past, we have played for the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, Fourth of July events in Wimberley and Dripping Springs, Founder's Day in Dripping Springs, The Pound House also in Dripping Springs, Butterfly Days in Wimberley, Veteran's Day Concert in Dripping Springs and the Texas Community Music Festival held in Austin, as well as many other events in the surrounding communities.
