Ben Bruce Raceway Rained Out
Re-Scheduled for September 18th with OFAA
The rain showers put a stop to one of the biggest shows of the year at Ben Bruce Raceway featuring the Texas Blown Fuel and Outlaw Fuel Altereds. TBFA had 9 cars on the property, but mother nature had other plans. The event has been re-scheduled for September 18th for the Ben Bruce Raceway Fall Nostalgia Nationals!
Butherus Wins Witko Nationals in Denton
The Texas Blown Fuel Association joined the Outlaw Fuel Altereds in headlining the North Star Dragway Witko Nationals on June 5th in Denton, Texas. After two canceled events (AHRA booked) and a rainout, the TBFA teams were highly anticipating their return to the strip as ten cars came to battle in the second event of the season.
With a full field and a capacity crowd at North Star Dragway the TBFA guys and gals were called to the lanes for first session of qualifying. Six teams made their TBFA debut at this event including Eddie Taylor’s “Faded Memories” FED, Wes Breiton’s “Bad Oman” altered, Dustin Johnson’s “Fair Warning” altered, Tom Butherus’ “Rude Rat” altered, Rick Grindstaff’s “Quarterflash” FED and Rich Witko’s blown funny car.

TBFA Invades Ben Bruce Raceway
The highly anticipated debut of the Texas Blown Fuel Association finally became a reality on March 6th as the TBFA invaded Ben Bruce Raceway in Evadale, Texas. Known for it’s friendly staff, unique appearance and of course those die hard drag racing fans that pack the stands every weekend, Evadale was a perfect fit for the TBFA to host their debut event.
An energetic and eager vibe floated through the pits as the TBFA members couldn’t wait to line up and do some good old drag racing. After the drivers meeting, TBFA President Rick Grindstaff was swarmed with orders for the great looking series t-shirts done by Mallory Prints, with all profits being donated to the Shriners Burn Center in Houston, Texas. Teams returned to their respected pit areas to prepare for the first qualifying session and shortly after the call went out to “bring em’ to the lanes.”
