Objectivism

As its name indicates, this page is dedicated to Objectivism, the philosophy of Ayn Rand. One may explore Objectivism best through her novels and non-fiction works. The philosophy centers around, as Rand herself states, "the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity and reason as his only absolute." The ideas which proceed from this ideal are intriguing, if only for their refreshing originality and audacity. However, because Objectivism is full of complications and logical breaches, I cannot accept it as my creed, though there are certainly some ideas of value within the philosophy. Consequently, I recommend that anyone interested delve into Rand's writings, but with a healthy skepticism, resolved to escape the seduction of her ideas.
