What can I say about Commercial Diving? Commercial Diving isn't just a job it's a way of life. IT is also the most addicting thing you can ever do in your life it gets in to your blood and it is all you can think about all you ever wanna do so i guees this is my disclamer for diving but if you can stick out and get through all the rough stuff you will have the most fun and rewarding job out there.On this page i'm gonna tell you all the pro's and con's of diving so you can make the best possible desion on what you wanna do.
DOWN SIDES(PAYSCALE)
In ever job job there up and down sides in diving the down sides are way down.For instance the first 1-2 years of your carrer you will be know as a tender it's like a appretice for the union but most Gulf dive work is not ran buy a union wich means that your getting paid as little as possible a knew tendor will make anywhere from 6-7 dollars a hour offshore or inland work in most companies and in the shop when there is no work you will probally be making slightly above minium wage.
A TENDERS JOB
Now that we have that out of the way let me tell you about a tenders job you get to become a pack mule you will be carring some of the heaviest shit you have ever seen,then its time to go offshore you drive all night to get to the locations were the boat is then it's time to unload the gear on to the boat.Now the divers get out of the truck and go lay down you being the tender has to rig up everthing for the crane and put in on the boat,after everthing is on the boat it,s time to start seting it all up as your going out to the location and then you start praying that you have a long ride to the location so you can get some sleep before you have to start pulling divers in and out of the water and running the chamber all day long.
YOU FINNALY BREAK OUT
Alright your finnaly a diver!!Nope don't get to exited yet a break-out diver dives on ever job that know one else wants and you will probaly have made more the last year as a lead tender than you will this year sure your your hourly pay goes up you will be making anywhere from 10-12 dollars an hour but no way will you be on as many jobs oh and know you have to have your on hat which will cost you anywhere from 1000-5000 pretty pricy and bye know you should have your on wet suit but if not your looking at 300-500 for that oh and do you want to work in the winter gotta have a dry suit 700-1300.
FULL FLEGE GO GET EM DIVER
Now that your experinced diver your pay can only increase you can make anywhere from 30,000-75,0000 a year depending on the company your with and how much you like to go offshore.
