Last Light

The afternoon is cool,
Though thoughts are cold,
And heart and soul are frozen over.
Yet the mind seeps warm thoughts,
Throughout my body and therefore,
Melt the wicked emotions.
My thoughts have rested upon the thought of you,
And the warmth of that thought singes through me,
Burning each part of me,
heating me in soothing affection.
Afternoon is creeping by,
And evening will soon be upon us.
But the darkness is there,
And the cloud cover already in affect,
Spreads the calm cool gloom accross the grass outside.
And the chance of meeting you on that grass,
Shines out of the gloom,
A last light in my desolation.
