Love Keeps No Record of Wrongs

Why does it seem so hard to forgive and forget? Why are our hearts and heads so hard when it comes to this topic? What makes and keeps our hearts cold stone when someone wrongs us? Although we are human, that is no excuse for us to act in immaturity in these matters. As seen in this first verse, the people we know will not be alive or around forever. We need to get things straight with our neighbor, for we know not God's plan for them...where they may go, if they live or die. What is accomplished in not forgiving except the guilt and hurt we cause ourselves and the other person? Pray about this...and always look to God. No one says it was or is easy, but it is still the right thing to do. As Jesus would forgive, so should we as Christians.

Why do you not pardon my offenses and forgive my sins? For I will soon lie down in the dust; you will search for me, but I will be no more.
- Job 7:21 -

Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the Lord"-and you forgave the guilt of my sin.
- Psalm 32:5 -

When we were overwhelmed by sins, you forgave our transgressions.
- Psalm 65:3 -

- Psalm 78:38 -

- Ephesians 4:32 -

When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations that was against us and stood opposed to us; He took it away, nailing it to the cross.
- Colossians 2:13-14 -

Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
- Colassians 13:3 -

For the sake of your name, O Lord, forgive my iniquity, though it is great.
- Psalm 25:11 -

- Psalm 86:5 -

The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him; we have not obeyed the Lord our God or kept the laws he gave us through His servants the prophets.
