Malmö - Bruce V. Bracken's All-Purpose Poetry Thing

Yes, I remember that fine, spring morning
When all the fishermen came to Malmö
With all the bounty of the sea
Mollusks, squid, crab, lobster
Walleye, sockeye and tuna!

But when they wanted to clean and cook their catch
They found that someone had bought all their kitchens!
Oh, they wailed and woed, they rolled to and fro'
They pulled out their hair in all their despair
"Now all of Sweden will surely starve to death!"

Then out of desperation, lest their catch go bad
They commenced to building a bonfire, to cook it with
They chopped and sawed, gathered peat and sod
They cleared old-growth forest, the richest and poorest
Dined heartily on their seaborne smorgasbord

It went on for more than a day
'Til all wished they'd not seen a fish
But sadly the wolves and the owls in grief screeched and howled
They vowed revenge on those Swedes, oh how they would bleed!
And killed each one, man, woman and child
While they were too full to move!

And the moral of this story is:
Buy American! It's good for the environment!
