James B. Seargent

SEARGENT, JAS. (JAMES) B., (Plot 2; Evergreen Cemetery), Born: September 09, 1842. Deceased: March 06, 1915. Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America, on the 28th day of March, 1862, and served “Honorably” as a “Private” in Company “H”, 4th “Texas Infantry”, C.S.A. He was at his time of enlistment a resident of Houston County, Texas. He was “Honorably” discharged from said service in the 18th day of June, 1865, By being Released from Federal Prison (Point Lookout, Maryland). At which time he held the rank of “Private”. (Obtained from “Southern Cross of Honor” application…his writing).
