The 59th state troops (4th NC Cavalry) with ColonelFerrebee. My g-g-grandfather William M. Pendleton, was in Company E, and enlisted in Bertie County in 1862. He doesn't appear in the 1850 or 1860 NC census as far as I can tell, unless he's in there, but not listed in the census reference books that tell what microfilm roll to look in. He was captured in June 1863 just before Gettysberg and released 1 week later on his parole. By Aug 1865 he was married to Jane E. Selley from Kansas and in Jefferson City, MO where his son was born. He went to Texas within the next 3 years where he died around 1870. No death certificate.
