4th Brigade

The 4th Brigade, commanded by Colonel Deshler, might be said to be only temporarily attached to the division, from the fact they left the division shortly after it was organized. Shortly after their withdrawal from the division, they were captured at the Arkansas Post. After they were exchanged, they remained east of the Mississippi River.
