Francis Marion Oliver

FRANCIS MARION OLIVER, b. 1833, Troup County, Georgia; d. 1866, between 1857-1867, in Coffeeville, Texas. Married to NANCY CASHELLA WALKER, November 04, 1851, Troup County, Georgia. Nancy C. Walker Oliver married (2nd) to Alexander Gullatt and both are buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Lanett, Alabama Francis was living in Troup County, Georgia. Traveled to Coffeeville, Texas. Date of death not known, but apparently was in the Confederate Army. His daughter applied for a civil war pension based on his service. Record is found that F. M. Oliver was in company H of the 18th Texas Confederate Regiment, as a Teamster. No other information noted. The 18th Regiment disbanded May 1865. The 18th Texas Infantry was regrouped from parts of the 14th. The 18th was Ochiltree's Regiment of Texas Volunteers. Company Muster Roll, Camp Sidney Sherman, Marion County, Texas, May 6, 1862, in Coffeville, by W. B. Ochiltree, 30 mile rendeavious. Paid by Wm Colby on July 6, Teamster from Oct 2, 1862. Teamster Commissary, Nov 1862. Apl 1865, Furlong has for 41 days 29 Apr '65 Hosp Co. 17

Children of FRANCIS OLIVER and NANCY WALKER are: i. JANE BROUGHTON OLIVER, b. December 12, 1853, near LaGrange, Troup, Georgia; d. July 10, 1914, Columbus, Muscogee, Georgia. ii. WILLIAM WATSON OLIVER, b. October 11, 1856, Troup, Georgia; d. October 05, 1891, Lee, Alabama.
